Turn the equipment list into a site plan
Mark the incoming supply, outlet, drainage, power and supporting equipment. Include space for opening panels, replacing consumables and handling larger components. Clarify who provides foundations, pipework, electrical work and lifting arrangements. Identify any shutdown or access restriction that could affect installation and commissioning.
Plan installation before choosing replacement components
A water-treatment installation plan should show connections and responsibilities as well as equipment positions. Include water supply, outlet, drainage, electrical provisions and service access. Note lifting, delivery and shutdown restrictions where relevant. Keeping these requirements in the project brief helps prevent a gap between a technically suitable component and a practical installed arrangement.
| Requirement | What to compare | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Utilities | Identify available water, drainage and power | Confirm requirements for the selected equipment |
| Layout | Identify service and replacement clearances | Include access for larger components |
| Responsibilities | Identify equipment and site-work boundaries | Keep commissioning and handover in scope |
A selection mistake to avoid
Approve the equipment configuration and site requirements together before procurement, so connections, utilities and service provisions are clearly established.
What should be sent when a site drawing is unavailable?
Provide photographs, basic dimensions, utility locations, the water source and intended application. The review can identify what further measurements are needed.
Planning the enquiry in Sabah
Send site photographs, dimensions and the proposed process duty to SWFI with the project location. For work outside Kota Kinabalu, include delivery access and the timing of any site shutdown. Ask for the scope boundary to be written into the quotation. Retain the final layout and handover records so future servicing starts from the installed arrangement.
Information to prepare
- Site dimensions and utilities
- Installation responsibilities and scope boundary
- Access, shutdown and commissioning schedule
Should site preparation wait until delivery?
It should be reviewed earlier wherever possible. Confirming connections and access helps avoid gaps between the equipment supply and installation requirements.
Discuss your requirement with SWFI
Share your site location and the information listed above. SWFI can review the requirement; equipment selection, supply and service scope are subject to technical suitability and confirmation.
