FRP Filter Vessels: Sizing and Site Requirements

An FRP vessel provides the housing for a selected treatment arrangement. For a Sabah project, review its documented size, connections and operating limits together with the proposed media or resin process. A vessel volume is not, on its own, a treatment-capacity specification.

Check the exact vessel and accessories

Request the current datasheet, connection details and compatible internal arrangement. Confirm the selected valve and distribution components. The proposed service and cleaning modes should remain within the equipment’s limits. Also consider the space needed for assembly, inspection and replacement, not only the footprint of the installed vessel.

An FRP column needs compatible internals and a defined duty

An FRP filter vessel can house selected media or resin, but the housing itself does not define the treatment result. Review its model limits, openings, connections and distribution arrangement with the proposed bed. A replacement vessel should also fit the site’s installation and maintenance space. Keep the mechanical specification and the process requirement together during procurement.

A selection mistake to avoid

Similar-looking columns may have different openings, ratings and internals. A height comparison is not a complete compatibility check.

What should a vessel-only order clarify?

Whether the valve, internal distribution components, media and installation are included or separately supplied. This avoids treating a bare vessel as a complete system.

Planning the enquiry in Sabah

SWFI’s industrial catalogue includes FRP tank products. Send the treatment objective, required flow, pressure and relevant water information. For a replacement, include the old vessel nameplate and photographs of the connections. Clarify whether the supply includes internals, valve, media and installation so the final procurement scope matches the site’s expectations.

Information to prepare

Can two vessels of similar height be treated as equivalent?

No. Diameter, connection details, design limits and internal arrangement may differ. Compare the complete specification.
