Pressure Valves and Air Valves in Water Pipework

A pressure-control valve regulates a water-line duty, while an air-management valve admits or releases air under specified conditions. These are different functions.

How it applies to the water system

Specify pressure reduction, sustaining or relief separately from air release and vacuum protection. One component does not automatically perform the role of another.

Selection and operating considerations

Use the pipeline profile, operating pressure and flow when reviewing air-valve locations. Confirm the required capacity and valve type rather than installing an arbitrary small vent.

Planning the requirement in Sabah

For a Kota Kinabalu building, plant room or water-transfer installation elsewhere in Sabah, send the valve nameplate and photographs of its pipework. Include the intended function, operating records and the connection standard so a replacement or new component can be reviewed properly.

Information to prepare

What should I send SWFI for this requirement in Sabah?

Send the site location, source-water information, operating flow and pressure, and the equipment model or photographs where available. SWFI is based in Kota Kinabalu and can review the requested supply or service scope against the site duty.
